AIKEN COUNTY — A Trenton man died in a motorcycle collision on Interstate 20 on December 12.
According to Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables, the victim is identified as 42-year-old Kyle Barron. The crash occurred around 7:55 p.m. on I-20 westbound, near the 13-mile marker and approximately 5½ miles west of Aiken, said Sgt. Tyler Tidwell with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
A 2018 Ford Fusion, occupied by three people, and a 2018 Indian motorcycle were traveling west when the motorcycle struck the rear of the Ford Fusion. Following the collision, the motorcycle veered off the roadway to the left.
Ables confirmed that Barron was operating the motorcycle at the time of the accident. He was transported to Wellstar MCG, where he succumbed to his injuries at 7:27 p.m. No injuries were reported among the occupants of the Ford Fusion.
The incident is under investigation by the Coroner's Office in conjunction with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
