YORK COUNTY — Two people were killed in a head-on collision involving three vehicles south of Fort Mill early on September 2.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, troopers responded to the incident on South Doby's Bridge Road near Kearney Lane at approximately 6:30 a.m. A 2011 Honda coupe was traveling west when it crossed the center lane, struck a pickup truck, and collided head-on with a Volvo.
The driver and a passenger of the Honda were pronounced dead at the scene. No other individuals were reported injured. The York County Coroner's Office has not released the identities of the deceased.
Fort Mill Police indicated that South Doby's Bridge Road was closed for approximately four hours, reopening around 10:30 a.m. The collision remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
