Four hospitalized after six-car crash on Route 6 in Sandwich
SANDWICH, Mass. —
Four individuals were hospitalized following a six-car collision on Route 6 in Sandwich, Massachusetts, on Saturday morning.
The incident was reported just before 9 a.m. near mile marker 62 eastbound, between Old Exits 3 and 4.
According to the Sandwich Fire Department, the crash involved six vehicles, including two vans and two SUVs. Eighteen people received evaluation at the scene, with one requiring extraction from a vehicle.
Of those evaluated, four were transported to Cape Cod Hospital for further treatment.
Additional ambulances from West Barnstable and Bourne were dispatched to assist, along with two more from Sandwich.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
Meanwhile, three other service calls coincided with the incident, managed by Mashpee and additional Sandwich units, according to officials.
