Chain-reaction crash in East Louisville sends car crashing into train, leaving one injured.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A crash involving a train and a left one person injured in east Louisville on Friday morning.

At approximately 8 a.m., emergency crews responded to the 7700 block of Six Mile Lane near Westwood Farms Drive for a reported collision with a train. According to authorities, a Norfolk Southern Railroad train had stopped on the tracks, causing traffic to back up.

A van, driven by an adult, collided with a vehicle that was halted due to the train, pushing that vehicle into the side of one of the train cars. One individual was injured and transported to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment, though injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the van was unharmed.

The cause of the train's stop remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
