Pedestrian Fatality Occurs in Denver Crash

A pedestrian was killed Saturday night in a collision near Sloan's Lake, according to the Denver Police Department.

The incident took place around 10:46 p.m. at the intersection of West 17th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard, on the southwest edge of Sloan's Lake Park. The pedestrian, whose identity has not yet been released, was at the scene.

Authorities reported that the driver remained at the location following the crash. Sheridan Boulevard was closed in both directions at the intersection for several hours, affecting traffic during the cleanup and investigation. The roadway fully reopened by Sunday morning, as confirmed in an update from the Denver Police Department.

The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner will disclose the victim's identity at a later time, and further information regarding the cause of the crash has not been provided.
