MIDDLETOWN – A two-vehicle collision at 2:15 p.m. on Route 35 resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries, authorities reported.
The crash involved a sedan and an SUV traveling southbound. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while three others were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Emergency response units from the MIDDLETOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT and the MONMOUTH COUNTY FIRST AID SQUAD arrived promptly to assist. A section of Route 35 was closed for approximately two hours due to the incident and subsequent investigation.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. No further details regarding identities or conditions of the injured have been released.
