BRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX NEWS) — A head-on collision Monday evening on KY 9 at Old Pea Ridge Road resulted in one fatality and one serious injury.
According to Kentucky State Police, the incident occurred around 5:40 p.m. A Ford Escape, driven by 40-year-old Deron Johnson, was traveling southbound when it crossed the centerline, colliding with a northbound Dodge Ram.
Authorities confirmed that Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bracken County Coroner's Office. The driver of the Ram was airlifted to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by KSP Post 6 Collision Reconstruction Investigators.
