GREEN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A three-vehicle collision on KY 88 left a juvenile dead on Tuesday morning, prompting an investigation by the Kentucky State Police.

According to KSP, the accident occurred around 10 a.m. when a 14-year-old lost control of a Subaru Forester while westbound on KY 88. The vehicle crossed the centerline and sideswiped an eastbound GMC bucket truck.

Following the initial impact, the Forester struck a F350, also traveling eastbound, which subsequently caught fire. The driver of the F350 escaped before the fire reached the passenger compartment.

Authorities said the 14-year-old was at the scene by the Green County Coroner. One passenger from the Forester was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital with serious injuries, while two others were taken to TJ Sampson Hospital for treatment.

KSP reported that neither the bucket truck driver nor the F350 driver sustained injuries. The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
