POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX News) — A 70-year-old woman died, and three children were injured in an ATV crash Tuesday night.
According to Kentucky State Police, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Cat Creek Road in the 1500 block. Authorities were dispatched following a report of a fatal collision involving an ATV.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Deloris Kay Huff of Clay City was operating a Honda ATV with her three grandchildren when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned in a ditch.
Huff and the children were transported to Centerpoint Health in Winchester. Officials confirmed that Huff was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
As of Wednesday, two of the grandchildren are expected to be released later in the day, while one remains hospitalized in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing.
