Motorcyclist Killed in H-2 Freeway Accident in Mililani
MILILANI, HI—A 23-year-old man died after losing control of his motorcycle on the H-2 freeway today at 1:51 p.m., according to authorities.
The motorcyclist was traveling north at a high rate of speed in the far-left lane when he veered right, crossed all northbound lanes, and collided with a metal guardrail near Meheula Parkway. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.
While speed is believed to be a factor in the accident, it remains unclear if drugs or alcohol contributed, per the Honolulu Police Department's Traffic Division.
Northbound lanes of the H-2 were closed for several hours as emergency crews worked at the scene. Traffic was diverted at the Mililani off-ramp to Kamehameha Highway during the investigation.
This incident marks Oahu's 35th traffic fatality of the year, in contrast to 74 fatalities at the same time in 2025.
