LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A man faces DUI charges following an accident on April 15 in Ephrata Township.
The incident occurred around 12:13 a.m. in the 800 block of East Main Street. Christopher Ulrich, 49, was driving a Jeep Wrangler when he struck a pedestrian crossing sign and crossed the center median, according to authorities.
The vehicle subsequently caught fire after the collision. Ulrich sustained no injuries but exhibited signs of impairment, police said.
A breath test revealed Ulrich's blood alcohol concentration was .168%, more than twice the legal limit in Pennsylvania.
He has been charged with two DUI misdemeanors and cited for three traffic offenses, according to court documents. Ulrich is awaiting his preliminary arraignment.
