NORFOLK, Va. — A car crash early Tuesday morning left a 20-year-old man dead and a 20-year-old woman seriously injured, according to Norfolk police.
Authorities responded to the 6300 block of Center Drive at 12:39 a.m. The driver, identified as Carlos C. Carrales of Hampton, lost control of the SUV, which ran off the road, struck a tree, and overturned. Carrales was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Norfolk police are currently investigating the incident, with officials stating that it remains unclear if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
