A Florida man was charged with multiple felonies following a series of crashes in Mexico, Mo., on Sunday.
Authorities responded to the 1500 block of North Olive around 2:41 p.m. for reports of an accident involving a 2022 Dodge Ram towing a gooseneck trailer.
The vehicle struck several parked cars, damaged a residence, and left the scene, according to law enforcement.
Witnesses identified the driver as 32-year-old Luis Soberon-Companioni of Brandon, FL, who was reportedly agitated and yelling prior to the incident.
Companioni's vehicle hit a 2002 Ford truck, pushing it into a yard, and later collided with a 2022 Jeep, which was pushed into a 2020 Jeep.
The truck was located on Love Street near Jefferson Street, leading to Companioni's arrest by Mexico police.
Authorities stated he refused a breath test to determine his blood alcohol content and resisted a warrant-authorized blood draw, allegedly kicking an officer in the groin.
He faces felony charges for Leaving the Scene of Accident – Property Damage Exceeding $1,000, Tampering with Physical Evidence in Felony Prosecution, DWI, Fourth Degree Assault – Special Victims, and two counts of Leaving the Scene of Accident.
Companioni is currently held on a $25,000 bond at the Audrain County Jail.
