DETROIT (WKRC) — Ford Motor Co. is recalling nearly 420,000 vehicles in the U.S. due to a seat belt defect.
The recall affects 419,967 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles from model years 2018 through 2022, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Authorities said the seat belt pretensioner in the driver or front passenger seat may inadvertently lock the belt, preventing it from retracting or extending properly, which could increase the risk of injury during a crash.
Details regarding repair procedures are not yet available. Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by Ford in the coming weeks, the NHTSA confirmed.
