Coroner Identifies Motorcyclist Who Died in Crash.

URBANA — A crash on South Lincoln Avenue resulted in the fatality of a motorcyclist on Saturday afternoon.

John K. Goeken, 39, of Savoy, was at 1:26 p.m. at Carle Foundation Hospital, according to Champaign County Coroner Laurie Brauer. An autopsy is scheduled, and the incident remains under investigation by the coroner's office, the University of Illinois Police Department (UIPD), and Illinois State Police.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene around 12:30 p.m. UIPD officials reported that both a and an were involved, with the driver sustaining non-life-threatening injuries and being transported to a local hospital.

In a Monday update, authorities confirmed that Goeken succumbed to his injuries from the crash. Southbound Lincoln Avenue was closed from Windsor Road to St. Mary's Road for several hours following the incident.
