Tiger Woods Arrested on DUI Charges Following Crash in Martin County

MARTIN COUNTY, FL — Tiger Woods was arrested Friday afternoon on suspicion of driving under the influence after a crash involving his vehicle, according to authorities.

Woods, 50, was driving a Land Rover when he collided with a pickup truck pulling a trailer shortly before 2 p.m. on South Beach Road. The impact caused Woods' vehicle to roll onto its side. Witnesses reported that prior to the crash, Woods was driving at high speeds and overtook the pickup truck before the collision occurred.

Authorities said Woods displayed signs of impairment at the scene and was charged with DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test. However, he passed a breathalyzer with a result of zero blood alcohol content but declined a urinalysis.

Emergency medical personnel responded, and Woods was uninjured in the incident. He was subsequently taken into custody and is being held for at least eight hours. Sheriff John Budensiek emphasized that all individuals are treated equally under the law, regardless of their status.

Genealogical factors have previously affected Woods, who has faced similar charges in the past. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

This incident marks Woods' first arrest since 2021, following a series of injuries that affected his golfing career.
