Kokomo driver dies in single-car crash near Sharpsville.

SHARPSVILLE, Ind. (WRTV) — A 51-year-old Kokomo man died Thursday afternoon in a single- crash on County Road 800 West, according to the Tipton County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities identified the victim as Michael Adams, who was driving southbound when his 2014 Cruze left the roadway and struck a tree. The crash occurred approximately 5 miles east-northeast of Sharpsville.

Adams was not wearing a seatbelt, and the vehicle's airbags did not deploy. Callers reported the car was locked and the driver unresponsive.

Emergency responders, including deputies from the Tipton County Sheriff's Office and a marshal from the Sharpsville Police Department, arrived on the scene and found Adams deceased.

The cause of death is currently under investigation by the Tipton County Coroner's Office.

Tipton County, with a population of around 15,300, is located about an hour's drive north of downtown Indianapolis.
