GARDEN CITY, Utah (KUTV) — A 17-year-old girl from California died following an off-highway vehicle crash on June 19, according to the Utah Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. while four teenagers were operating an off-highway vehicle in the parking lot of Heritage Park. Authorities reported the vehicle overturned while the group was performing “donuts.”
The victim, seated in the back, was ejected during the rollover. Officials confirmed that she was not wearing a seat belt or helmet at the time of the crash. Despite lifesaving efforts by emergency responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Responding agencies included Intermountain Health Lifeflight, the Rich County Sheriff's Office, Rich County EMS, and the Garden City Fire District. The Department of Natural Resources extended condolences to the victim's family and friends.
The incident is under investigation.
