Firefighters extinguish car fire in Maryland after crash involving tree
Driver escapes with minor injuries in Saturday incident
NEW FREEDOM, Md. —
On Saturday, York County firefighters responded to a car fire following a crash in Maryland.
The Rose Fire Company reported that crews arrived at the intersection of Middletown Road and Baker Schoolhouse Road shortly before noon.
According to officials, a vehicle struck a tree, causing the tree to fall on the car and ignite both.
Authorities confirmed the driver managed to exit the vehicle and suffered only minor injuries.
No additional injuries were reported, and emergency response teams provided medical aid on scene.
The accident is under investigation, and authorities have not disclosed details regarding lane closures or vehicle tows.
