Cranston Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash in Johnston
A fatal motorcycle accident occurred on Route 6 in Johnston on Thursday, August 27, 2026. Rhode Island State Police responded to the scene, where a significant police presence was noted near Interstate 295.
According to the authorities, the motorcycle was traveling westbound when it veered into the left shoulder. The vehicle missed the on-ramp for Interstate 295 south and continued along the shoulder. It collided with a large earthen abutment before crashing into a highway sign.
The motorcyclist was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have identified the victim as 59-year-old Nicholas Nevola of Cranston.
