Pedestrian Injured in Crash Near Minneapolis Light Rail Station
MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured near a light rail station early Sunday morning.
According to Minneapolis Police, officers responded to a report at 1:33 a.m. at 1808 Franklin Avenue East. Upon arrival, they found a man with life-threatening injuries near the light rail platform.
Authorities reported that a Jeep Liberty left the roadway, collided with the pedestrian, and subsequently crashed into the platform. The driver had fled the scene but returned later and was arrested on suspicion of criminal vehicular operation.
The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating the incident. No additional details regarding the injuries or identity of those involved have been released at this time.
