Sutton, WV – On June 11, 2025, at approximately 1:20 PM, a head-on collision occurred involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle on Route 15, near Gerald Freeman Campground.
According to authorities, Jeffrey Robertson, 62, of Elkview, WV, was operating the motorcycle westbound when he crossed left of center and struck an oncoming vehicle. Robertson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported to Braxton Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Authorities confirmed that Robertson was found in possession of Methamphetamine and Marijuana at the time of the crash.
Emergency responders, including local police and medical teams, arrived promptly to manage the situation. The incident prompted temporary lane closures while an investigation into the circumstances of the crash continued.
