TAUNTON, MA — A woman is dead following a single-car crash on Country Street late Friday night.
Authorities said the incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. when a 2001 Honda Accord collided with a telephone pole. The driver, 26-year-old Selina Mendez, succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital.
A 23-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries. Emergency responders from the Taunton Police Department and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.
Massachusetts State Police and Taunton police are investigating the cause of the crash. No further details have been released.
