SAN ANTONIO – A woman was arrested Friday after driving into an active crash scene and striking the body of a deceased pedestrian.
The incident occurred near State Highway 211, according to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office. Deputies reported that a 61-year-old man was walking along the roadway when he was clipped by a vehicle's side mirror, leading him to fall. A second vehicle subsequently hit the man, resulting in his death at the scene.
Both drivers remained at the site while deputies secured the area and erected barricades. Investigators stated that a third driver, identified as 26-year-old Tionne Spears, circumvented the barricades and entered the restricted area, running over the victim's body.
Authorities discovered khat, an illegal plant with stimulant-like effects, in Spears' possession. She was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, abuse of a corpse, and possession.
