A Wichita man died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday following a single-vehicle semi crash on I-235 northbound.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the semi-truck left the roadway near Central Avenue and struck a concrete barrier. The 45-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Emergency responders from the Wichita Fire Department and the Sedgwick County EMS arrived shortly after the crash. Authorities said the northbound lanes of I-235 were closed for approximately three hours during the investigation and cleanup efforts.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Kansas Highway Patrol. No additional injuries were reported.
