MILILANI, Hawaii (Local News Wire) — A 23-year-old man died following a motorcycle crash on the H-2 Freeway near Mililani at approximately 1:50 p.m. on October 31, 2026.
According to the Honolulu Police Department (HPD), the Wahiawa resident, identified as Justice Maddox, was traveling in the far-left lane when he lost control, crossed the northbound lanes, and struck a guardrail. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) pronounced him dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
HPD reported that speed was a contributing factor in the accident; however, the involvement of drugs or alcohol remains under investigation. Lane closures were enforced as first responders managed the scene, resulting in heavy traffic. Vehicles were rerouted via the Mililani off-ramp to Kamehameha Highway northbound.
This incident marks Oahu's 35th traffic fatality for the year 2026, a decrease from 74 fatalities at the same point last year. The ongoing investigation by HPD is expected to provide further details.
