ASHLAND, Ky. (LEX 18) — Two individuals died following a motorcycle and pickup truck collision on Sunday evening at the intersection of Winchester Avenue and 25th Street.
According to Boyd County Coroner Mark Hammond, emergency responders pronounced the motorcycle's operator, an adult male, and his passenger, an adult female, dead around 8:30 p.m. Both were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
Preliminary findings suggest excessive speed may have contributed to the incident. The Kentucky State Police are leading the investigation and conducting a reconstruction of the crash. The identities of the deceased have not been released.
