A multi-vehicle collision on Highway 75 southbound resulted in significant injuries and lane closures, authorities said.
The crash, involving three vehicles, occurred near exit 14 at approximately 2:41 p.m., according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Emergency responders, including local fire and ambulance services, arrived on the scene and transported five individuals to nearby hospitals. One person suffered critical injuries.
Authorities confirmed that the southbound lanes were closed for approximately two hours while an investigation was conducted and vehicles were removed.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
