Trump Pays Tribute to Six U.S. Service Members in Dignified Transfer Following Fatal Refueling Crash.

DOVER, DELAWARE (TNND) — President Donald Trump attended a dignified transfer ceremony on March 18, honoring six U.S. service members killed in a recent aircraft crash in Iraq.

The transfer involved the remains of all six crew members from a KC-135 Air Force refueling aircraft that crashed while supporting operations against Iran. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, the incident occurred last week over friendly territory in western Iraq.

The following service members were honored:

  • Maj. John “Alex” Klinner, 33, Auburn, Alabama
  • Capt. Ariana G. Savino, 31, Covington, Washington
  • Tech. Sgt. Ashley B. Pruitt, 34, Bardstown, Kentucky
  • Capt. Seth R. Koval, 38, Mooresville, Indiana
  • Capt. Curtis J. Angst, 30, Wilmington, Ohio
  • Tech. Sgt. Tyler H. Simmons, 28, Columbus, Ohio

Family members were present at the ceremony, where the remains were carried from the aircraft in silence and marked by precision. The ceremony serves as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by service members and their families.

This was Trump's second attendance at a transfer ceremony related to the ongoing military operations in the region. The first occurred on March 7, involving six soldiers killed in an Iranian drone strike.

The ceremony followed strict protocol, emphasizing respect and dignity. Authorities said, “No speeches are delivered,” as family members stood close by, observing the proceedings.

The investigation surrounding the aircraft crash is ongoing.
