SLIDELL, LA — A fatal crash on LA 16 near Ben Fugler Road claimed the life of 39-year-old David Davies on Friday night.
According to Louisiana State Police (LSP), the single-vehicle accident occurred shortly after 11:00 p.m. Preliminary investigations indicate that Davies was driving a 2020 Toyota Tundra southbound when he lost control, veering off the road and colliding with a tree.
Authorities reported that Davies was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators noted that impairment is undetermined; a toxicology sample will be collected for analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.
Lane closures were in effect during the response and investigation, but they have since been lifted.
