MYRTLE BEACH — One person was killed and another injured in a hit-and-run crash early on August 3.
Shortly after 12:30 a.m., Myrtle Beach Police responded to a collision involving two pedestrians at 21st Avenue South and Kings Highway. Both victims were transported to the hospital; however, one succumbed to injuries.
The name of the deceased has not been released pending family notification by the Horry County Coroner's Office.
Authorities located the suspect's vehicle using the police department's Real Time Crime Unit, which employs surveillance cameras and license plate readers. The driver has been arrested, but their identity has not been disclosed.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with those impacted by this incident,” the police department stated.
