MINNEAPOLIS — A St. Paul man has been charged with criminal vehicular homicide following a seven-vehicle crash on an Interstate 94 exit ramp in Minneapolis on Oct. 23, which resulted in one death and 10 injuries.
The crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. on the ramp from eastbound I-94 to Lyndale Avenue, according to authorities. The suspect, 29-year-old Talon Walker, was allegedly driving a Chevrolet Avalanche at speeds nearing 100 mph when he struck two vehicles, causing a chain reaction involving seven total vehicles.
One of the impacted drivers, 26-year-old Natalie Gubbay of Minneapolis, died from her injuries. Ten others were injured, including Walker and a female passenger in his vehicle. A 2-year-old boy in another vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
State troopers reported finding a half-empty liquor bottle on the driver's side floor of Walker's vehicle. He was hospitalized after the crash and was later booked into Hennepin County Jail on Oct. 24. Authorities noted that Walker's driver's license had previously been revoked.
