Woman Dies in Crash with Semi in East Grand Forks
EAST GRAND FORKS, MN — A woman was killed in a collision with a semi-truck on Thursday morning, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
At approximately 9 a.m., a Chevy Equinox traveling west on County Road 17 collided with a semi-truck heading north on Highway 2. The driver of the Equinox, identified as 67-year-old Kathy May Wimpfheimer, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Authorities reported that the semi-truck driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated on-site.
The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the incident. Emergency response units and tow services were dispatched to the scene, and traffic in the area experienced temporary lane closures.
