H-2 Freeway Crash Injures Nine, Including Six Children
Honolulu, HI – A two-vehicle crash on the H-2 Freeway injured nine people, including six children aged 3 to 16, on Monday at approximately 3:54 p.m.
According to Honolulu Emergency Medical Services officials, the incident occurred in the northbound lanes near the Ka Uka Boulevard exit. EMS dispatched seven units, including paramedics, emergency medical technicians, and a district chief, to the scene.
Emergency personnel treated nine patients with multiple injuries and transported all to a trauma center. Four males—ages 13, 15, 35, and 47—were reported in serious condition, with the two teenagers reportedly ejected from the back of a pickup truck during the crash. Five additional patients—a 33-year-old woman, two girls aged 12 and 16, and two boys aged 3 and 7—were taken to a hospital in stable condition.
The state Department of Transportation confirmed that three northbound lanes of the H-2 Freeway were closed for nearly two hours while emergency responders were on scene. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
