CASPER, Wyo. (WKRC) – A 30-year-old woman, Kandice Gunter, was found dead in a vehicle on Casper Mountain Road on Sunday morning, three days after being reported missing.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at approximately 9:20 a.m. following reports of a vehicle that had left the roadway and breached a guardrail. Authorities confirmed Gunter was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Casper Police Department.
The Natrona County Coroner's Office identified Gunter, whose disappearance was reported on October 29. Police stated that the circumstances of the crash and the cause of death are under investigation. Authorities have found no indications of foul play or involvement from another individual.
According to police, Gunter was last seen in Natrona County on the morning of her disappearance. Her family reported concerns when she did not arrive to pick up her children, aged 9 and 6, from a local Boys & Girls Club.
Witnesses reported it to be unusual for Gunter to miss such an event. According to her sister, Kayla Gunter, “It's totally out of character for her not to show up to get her kids.” Gunter had moved to Casper from Nevada about a month prior to her disappearance in order to be nearer to her children.
The investigation remains ongoing.
