The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Locust Grove and Water Tower. The bus, operated by Durham School Services, was transporting six preschool students to the Idaho Educational Services for the Deaf and the Blind at Amity Elementary School.

According to the West Ada School District, one student and the bus monitor were taken to St. Luke's Meridian for medical evaluation. Three students were released to guardians at the scene, while the remaining two were safely transferred to another bus for transport to Amity Elementary.
