FENTON, Ill. — A man died early Thursday morning following an ATV accident in western Whiteside County.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., the Whiteside County Sheriff's Office responded to a single-vehicle crash on Mellotts Road, west of Fenton. According to authorities, a Polaris Sportsman ATV driven by 63-year-old Larry Hill struck a deer, causing him to lose control and crash into a tree.
Hill was pronounced dead at the scene by the Whiteside County Coroner's Office.
Emergency response included the Morrison Fire Department, Morrison EMS, the Coroner's Office, and Hunter's Towing.
Whiteside County Sheriff John Booker expressed condolences to Hill's family and loved ones. The incident remains under investigation.
