A 28-year-old man died after a boat crash in Barnegat Bay on Memorial Day.

Gunnar Pearson, of Barnegat, was taken to a local hospital following the crash at approximately 5:45 p.m. on May 25, according to the New Jersey State Police.

The incident occurred near 63rd Street in Long Beach Township when the boat crashed into an unlit day marker, state police confirmed.

Four people sustained minor injuries, while one individual remains in critical condition at a hospital, authorities said.

No further details have been provided regarding the condition of the individual or if any charges have been filed. The crash is currently under investigation.
