CADILLAC, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — Two juveniles were arrested following a police chase on October 30, 2023, connected to multiple business break-ins and the theft of a pickup truck.
Authorities reported that the chase occurred after the stolen vehicle, taken from a Ford dealership outside Cadillac, crashed. Surveillance footage from Twisted Bones and a nearby vape shop allegedly captured the juveniles attempting to break in before being interrupted by police.
Initially, officers made contact with the juveniles and subsequently released them to a parent. However, investigators believe the same individuals later broke into the Ford dealership and stole the truck.
Mike Dershem, owner of Twisted Bones, expressed concern about the security of local businesses. “It's like when you leave the store every night, you lock up, you set the alarms and you're just kind of waiting to see what might happen,” he said.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are determining the charges the juveniles will face.
