Brockton Crash Involving State Police Trooper Cited for Negligent Operation

Brockton, MA—A Massachusetts State Police trooper has been cited for negligent operation and following a crash on Belmont Street on August 10.

The crash occurred around 10:50 p.m. involving a state police cruiser and another vehicle on the 800 block of Belmont Street. Both the driver and passenger of the other sustained injuries, as did the trooper.

According to State Police, the injured trooper remains on medical leave while the Bristol County District Attorney's Office investigates the incident. “We wish all who were injured a swift and full recovery,” a State Police spokesperson stated.

Authorities have not released additional information regarding the conditions of those involved.

Traffic on Belmont Street at Edinboro Avenue was closed during the response but reopened early the following morning.
