MANSFIELD, Ohio (WSYX) — A Lexington man was killed in a crash on U.S. 30 in Richland County on Friday night.
According to authorities, at approximately 10 p.m., a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Cody Newton of Lexington was traveling west on U.S. 30 when it veered off the right side of the road and struck multiple trees. Newton was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger, 36-year-old Erica Newton, also from Lexington, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Mansfield Ohio Health for treatment.
The incident remains under investigation by local law enforcement. No further details have been released at this time.
