PIKETON — A two-vehicle crash on State Route 32 at US 23 claimed the life of a 78-year-old woman on Sunday at approximately 1:10 p.m.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Paul Taylor, 79, of Canal Winchester, failed to yield at a stop sign while driving a Kia Cadenza. His vehicle was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Justin T. Gill, 34, of Beaver, Ohio.
Wilma Taylor, 78, a passenger in the Kia, was airlifted to Grant Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Paul Taylor was also transported to the same facility for treatment.
Justin Gill received treatment at the scene, while a juvenile passenger in his vehicle was taken to Adena Pike Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash is under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
