HAMILTON ― A two-vehicle crash on Route 130 early Sunday morning has claimed the life of a teenager and critically injured another, according to authorities.
The accident occurred around 4 a.m. on April 12, involving a Mazda CX3 and a U.S. Postal Service tractor-trailer.
Officials confirmed that a 17-year-old from Lakewood was pronounced dead at the scene, while another teenager sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Emergency services from the Hamilton Fire Department and local police responded promptly, and both vehicles were later towed from the scene.
Authorities said Route 130 was partially closed for several hours during the investigation, which remains ongoing.
No further details about the conditions of the injured teen or additional passengers have been released at this time.
