Delaware Memorial Bridge Accident Leads to River Search
Emergency crews are searching the Delaware River following a truck accident that occurred on the southbound span before dawn on July 11, 2025.
A single-vehicle crash near Bridgeville on July 12 has resulted in the death of 27-year-old Devin Flamer of Bridgeville, according to Delaware State Police. The incident took place shortly before 5 a.m. when Flamer's Buick Century, traveling south on Wilson Farm Road at a high rate of speed, failed to stop at Cannon Road. The vehicle crossed Conrail Road, swerved on and off the road, hit a concrete barrier, and subsequently overturned.
Flamer was not properly restrained and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash.
