Fort Worth Woman Arrested for Fatal Shooting After Minor Accident

A woman was arrested Saturday, accused of fatally shooting another driver following a minor traffic accident outside a restaurant in Fort Worth on Friday afternoon.

According to Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD), officers responded to a shooting report around 4:12 p.m. in the 5100 block of Wichita St., where they found 18-year-old Jenny Rosales dead in the parking lot of Don's Seafood.

Witnesses reported that Rosales and the suspect were attempting to exchange insurance information after the collision. Authorities said the suspect, Laterica Johnson, 47, allegedly pointed a handgun at those involved and attempted to leave the scene without providing her insurance details.

Police stated Johnson fired the weapon, striking Rosales in the chest. She then left the scene but later contacted law enforcement to provide her account of events.

FWPD located the firearm in Johnson's vehicle during her arrest on Saturday. She has been charged with murder, and the investigation is ongoing.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed Rosales' identity.
