PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Corrinne Blue, 32, was charged with three counts of vehicular homicide following a crash that killed three Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputies on Southern Boulevard, November 21, 2024.
According to the State Attorney's Office, Blue was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee over the 55 mph speed limit when she attempted to pass another vehicle and struck the deputies near the 18000 block of Southern Blvd.
Corporal Luis Paez Jr. and Deputy Ralph Waller were pronounced dead at the scene. Deputy Ignacio “Dan” Diaz succumbed to injuries days later.
The Florida Highway Patrol investigation revealed that Blue was operating her vehicle unsafely. Records indicate she had prior speeding convictions in Pennsylvania. Blue's nursing license remains active.
“These charges mark an important step in the pursuit of justice for the families of the fallen deputies,” said State Attorney Alexcia Cox. “These deputies were serving their community when their lives were tragically taken.”
The Traffic Homicide Unit of the State Attorney's Office will oversee the prosecution. Sheriff Ric Bradshaw expressed condolences and emphasized the need for drivers to remain focused, highlighting the serious consequences of distracted driving.
The judicial process will proceed, with loved ones of the deputies closely monitoring the case. Further details on lane closures or additional investigations will be provided as information becomes available.
