One Killed in Kossuth County Crash Involving

ALGONA, Iowa — One person died and two others sustained injuries in a collision involving a semi-truck and an near Algona on Monday morning.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the semi-truck was traveling southbound on 90th Avenue at approximately 10:30 a.m. when it failed to stop at a stop sign, colliding with an eastbound Equinox at the intersection of 90th Avenue and 210th Street.

The driver of the Equinox, identified as 47-year-old Carolee Wise of Emmetsburg, was at the scene. The semi-truck driver and a passenger in the Equinox were both injured and received medical attention.

Authorities have confirmed that the investigation into the crash is ongoing.

As of this date, 82 fatalities have been recorded on Iowa roads in 2026, an increase of 14 compared to the same point in 2025.
