Crater Lake Highway Reopened Following Suspected DUII Crash.

MEDFORD, Ore. — An Albany man was arrested Monday afternoon for driving under the influence and causing a serious crash on Crater Lake Highway.

Around 2:41 p.m., a silver 2007 driven by a 56-year-old Albany man crossed the center median while traveling northbound on Crater Lake Highway, colliding head-on with a blue 2022 sedan. The 25-year-old female driver of the sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital, according to the Medford Police Department.

The driver of the was taken into custody on suspicion of DUII—Inhalant, and investigations regarding and additional charges are ongoing. Authorities confirmed that the Medford Police Department is collaborating with the Jackson County District Attorney's Office for further legal proceedings.

As a result of the crash, Crater Lake Highway is closed southbound at Justice Road. Northbound traffic is limited to one lane. The Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) Team has been activated to investigate the incident.

Emergency responders from the Medford Police Department, Medford Fire Department, and Jackson County Fire District 3 are on site. The duration of the road closure remains uncertain.
