Yreka Man Dies in Car Crash in Phoenix.

PHOENIX, Ore. — A crash on Tuesday, May 13, left one man dead on a highway in Phoenix.

According to Oregon State Police (OSP), a northbound BMW 3 Series was struck from behind by a northbound Honda Accord. The BMW attempted to switch to the slow lane, which led to the Honda rolling over and ejecting its driver.

The driver of the Honda, 45-year-old William Gann of Yreka, was at the scene. Authorities confirmed Gann was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The driver of the BMW, 20-year-old Justine Castaneda of Medford, sustained minor injuries, OSP reported.

OSP was assisted by the Phoenix Police Department, Jackson County Fire, and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and lane closures were in effect following the incident.
