Braintree Police Respond to Head-On Collision on Pond Street
BRAINTREE, MA – A head-on collision involving two SUVs occurred early Saturday morning on Pond Street, according to police.
The crash was reported at approximately 4 a.m. near 549 Pond St. Both vehicles sustained significant front-end damage. Authorities confirmed that both drivers were injured; one driver, operating a Nissan, was found unconscious with serious internal injuries.
Both individuals were transported to South Shore Hospital for treatment.
Pond Street was closed from the Randolph town line to King Hill Road but has since reopened. The Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, MSP Crime Scene Section, and the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office attended the scene.
The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
